Gerald was chosen to be Thornbury’s June Nurse of the Month in recognition of the instrumental role he recently played in the setup of a new client project.
We caught up with Gerald on his win, read what he had to say below.
I have been working with Thornbury since 2015, doing ad hoc shifts as a staff nurse.
The variety of work. I completed my qualifications in advanced clinical practice in 2020 and, since then, I have worked on various niche projects with the Thornbury team. This includes a clinical site manager role in a university COVID testing centre during the pandemic and, more recently, I have been made clinical lead for a specific project which involves research trials.
I enjoy the flexibility of being an agency nurse – going to different hospitals, adapting to different work practices, and picking up good clinical practices from experienced colleagues.
I am very grateful for this recognition, but most of all appreciative of the opportunity to play a part and contribute to new and exciting projects.
Congratulations Gerald, you deserve it!
