Congratulations Ben! Our Nurse of the Month for March

Ben was chosen to be Thornbury’s March Nurse of the Month following some fantastic feedback from our Mental Health Team in Bristol, who highlighted some brilliant comments from clients about his work. This is what they had to say:
“Ben is amazing. He engages with patients, supports them, uses distraction techniques and, if the patient is really agitated, Ben manages to completely change their mood. He is a credit to Thornbury Nursing.”

We caught up with Ben on his win, read what he had to say below.

How long have you been working with Thornbury Nursing?

I have been working with Thornbury Nursing for about 6 years now.

What attracted you to join Thornbury Nursing?

I was introduced to Thornbury by a friend and I’ve never regretted joining this winning team! I really enjoy the high professional standards maintained by the Thornbury team, and I find it easy to access resources and support from them.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy many aspects about my job, but the top, most satisfying aspect is being able to successfully de-escalate a patient and help them to experience a productive day. Sometimes the scale of what you have to de-escalate can be overwhelming but I don’t give up. I continue in the hope that I will succeed and help the patient to calm down and feel listened to.

How do you feel about being Nurse of the Month?

I am very excited to be acknowledged as I give 100% effort in the delivery of care to patients. A very happy moment indeed!
