Yes, our staff have completed Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) training to deliver safety interventions. That’s because many patients who are experience mental health issues are prone to higher levels of distress and may act out towards staff or other patients.
This training provides our staff with the necessary non-restrictive and restrictive techniques to manage patient interventions when needed.
The mental health and learning disability staff we place in residential homes and care homes go through a rigorous compliance and onboarding process. Thornbury Nursing recruits to standards which meet or exceed local regulation and guidelines.
We only accept agency workers of the highest calibre, with just 20% of applicants making the cut. Our vetting includes enhanced DBS checks and a minimum of 12 months of experience in their specialist practice.
