Covid-19 testing solutions for The London School of Economics
How we supported LSE
The London School of Economics (LSE) approached us back in August 2020 to help with testing of asymptomatic staff and students from September onwards, in order to create a safe, covid free environment and continue in-person classes.
Initially, we partnered with a laboratory to facilitate PCR testing at LSE’s Houghton Street site. We provided 6/7 workers on-site daily to perform the tests. Over time, we have been able to quickly replicate the operation to additional sites within the university to meet changing needs.
From the November 2020, we supported the university with their mass testing regime at what’s now their main testing site. We facilitated PCR testing for foreign students hoping to return to their native country for the Christmas holidays and rapid lateral flow testing for those remaining on campus or traveling home within the UK.
Our offering has evolved into a fully managed service with Thornbury Nursing Services providing a dedicated account manager to support the day to day operation. We have offered insight and guidance on government standard operating procedures for mass testing including, initial risk assessments and site set up, the control of PPE and clinical waste disposal, embedding an onsite team structure, formalising the testing process, and still undertake regular site visits.
