Nurse of the Month

Nathan was chosen to be Thornbury’s September Nurse of the Month due to his outstanding work and commitment to our clients, which has made a significant impact. We were especially impressed by Nathan’s dedication to travelling across the country in a campervan to pick up shifts. His dedication is truly inspiring, and we’re grateful to him on the Thornbury team.

We caught up with Nathan on his win. Read what he had to say below.

How long have you been working with Thornbury Nursing?

I’ve worked for Thornbury Nursing since the beginning of 2023.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

There’s a lot that I enjoy about my job. The main thing I love is being a part of someone’s healing journey, and watching them overcome challenges to regain their strength and independence.

What attracted you to join Thornbury Nursing?

The main reasons were the flexibility and the pay. Over the years, I’ve worked across various healthcare sectors, often for low wages. I firmly believe that healthcare professionals are undervalued, which is why I feel fortunate to be paid a wage that allows me to plan for my future and feel appreciated. This helps to prevent burnout and gives me the energy to provide the best possible care to my clients.

How do you feel about being Nurse of the Month?

I’m truly grateful to receive this recognition and thankful to everyone at Thornbury who have supported me, especially during some challenging situations. It feels great to be acknowledged, and it’s a reminder of how much teamwork plays a role in delivering the best care.
