Access free Covid-19 home test kits

The English and Welsh governments recently announced the availability of free, coronavirus rapid lateral flow test to all residents, to help stop the spread of coronavirus. This means that if you live in either England or Wales, you can regularly order free home test kits to ensure you have not contracted the virus.

If you are a full-time agency worker or you’re not currently receiving regular coronavirus testing through your substantive employer, we strongly recommend using this free service. Testing regularly protects you, your family, colleagues and patients.

England

You can only use this service if:

  • you do not have coronavirus symptoms
  • you live in England or Wales
  • you’re 18 or older
  • you have not been told to self-isolate
  • you cannot get tests from your work, school, college or university (ask them for rapid lateral flow tests)

If you live in England, request your free coronavirus test kits here.

If you think you have symptoms of coronavirus or you have been in contact with someone who has the virus, do not order these free tests. You MUST instead book a PCR test here.

Wales

You can pick up home self-test kits at certain testing sites. Each person can collect 2 packs of 7 lateral flow self-test kits for home use. You do not need an appointment. Test centres are open for collection 7 days a week.

The rapid lateral flow tests are only suitable for people who do not have coronavirus symptoms. If you have COVID-19 symptoms you need to book a PCR test.

Find out where your nearest test centre is to collect some free text kits here.
