2020 has been a challenging year but it has also been a year of creativity. We’ve heard stories of many people using their downtime as an opportunity to embrace their hidden talents, channel their inner creativeness and in some instances, set up small businesses to share their talents with the world.
We know that some of our agency workers have many talents outside of the world of nursing, and we asked them to share their stories!
”I had always liked being creative and baking. The Costa Cupcake Company is my little baby and was created when I lived in Spain (hence the Costa part). After I was made redundant I found myself pottering around the kitchen and embraced Mr Kipling’s ethos – I was finally making exceedingly good cakes! My new business venture grew from a hobby into a full-blown business overnight. I now have a registered and insured cake studio and design cakes for weddings, birthdays and events.”

”We are two A&E nurses who love to spend our spare time coming up with crafty creations. During the 2020 lockdown, our ideas blossomed and we have been busy designing and creating beautiful box frames, inspired by paper roses. As we haven’t been able to raise money for our hospital charity this year in the usual ways, we decided to donate 10% of every frame purchased to The Grand Appeal charity. This means that when you purchase a product from us you will also be providing the amazing young people and families who enter Bristol Children’s Hospital, with the exceptional care they require and deserve.”
Prices range from £16 -£22.50
