Congratulations Tendai! Our Nurse of the Week.

Congratulations Tendai, our Nurse of the Week. We caught up with Tendai on her win.

How long have you been working with Thornbury?

I have been working for Thornbury for 7 and a half years.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I get the opportunity to help people in their most vulnerable and unexpected moments.

Walking out of a shift and knowing that I have cared for and met the emotional, psychological and physical needs in a safe, effective patient-centred manner fulfils my day.

There’s satisfaction in making a positive difference to patients and their families.

No matter how long it has been, patients and their loved ones always remember a kind, compassionate and caring nurse. They may not always remember the name but will never forget how kind you were.

What attracted you to join Thornbury?

TNS allows me the flexibility to work in various departments and Hospitals based on my family’s needs.

Besides the flexibility and working in different areas, I have the freedom to manage my time according to my needs and ultimately achieve a good work-life balance.

There is also an added advantage that nothing limits me if I get burned out in one area or want a change of scenery.

TNS is highly professional with a high standard of compliance. I feel proud to be part of this exceptional organisation.

TNS rewards nurses with excellent pay rates. The payroll department is extremely efficient, and you always get paid in time.

How do you feel about being Nurse of the Week?

I honestly feel it is an incredible achievement which I did not expect! It is an honour, and I feel very humbled that my hard work is being acknowledged and appreciated, which encourages me to continue working hard and constantly achieve excellence not only for me but for the organisation I represent.

Thank you, Tendai and congratulations! You deserve it!
